Categories of PDFs
There are five categories of predefined fields:
Current status PDFs, which provide information about the current runtime environment, such as the current user ID.
Process control PDFs, which limit or affect an operation within the application.
Terminal management PDFs, which can be used to control and provide information about the current cursor position.
Report management PDFs, which can be used to control and provide information about the disposition and production of reports, such as the print destination.
General purpose PDFs are used as index work variables or work fields in ILF statements.
